Our Staff & Lay Leaders

The Rev. Dr. Nina George–Hacker was called to be our 47th Rector in 2016. She holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from Georgetown University, a Master of Divinity degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity School for Ministry. Since 1990, she has served as the pastor of five churches, and has also worked as a parish administrator. Prior to being ordained a priest, Mother Nina taught Philosophy at Georgetown University and Boston College, and worked as a newspaper journalist and editor of scholarly books. She has published one novel, and is currently working on a second one. A native of Washington D.C., she has been married for 30 years to Richard Hacker, our Organist/Choir Director. They live in Cornwall, Pennsylvania with their three cats, Gracie, Abbey, and Holly.


Richard (“Rick”) Hacker, our Organist/Choir Director since 2016, studied piano at the Lancaster Conservatory of Music with Dr. Mary Vyner, and organ with Alice Birchall and Scott Weidler (former Director for Worship and Music, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). Rick holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Mansfield University; has taught piano privately; performed as an accompanist at the National Cathedral and Constitution Hall in Washington D.C., and for the National Association of Teachers Singing (NATS) Finals. He has served as Organist and Choir Director at both United Methodist and Episcopal churches for 50 years. He is married to our Rector.

Debra (“Debbie”) Martin is our Administrative Assistant.
Formerly a jeweler and a retired nurse, she brings detail-oriented organization and efficiency to her position and gets things done. She has one adult son and is married to Glenn.

Kurt Gansauer serves as our Rector’s Warden. A retired quality-control engineer, he brings excellent skills to his role of supporting our Rector’s ministry was well as overseeing much of the church’s property management. He and his wife Susan are the parents of two adult children and a cat named Leia.

Alex Shurak is our People’s Warden. A retired plumber, he can speak to anyone with ease and friendliness, ideal qualities in a leader tasked with mediating the congregation’s concerns. He is married to Cheryl and they have one adult son.
